Increasing Colon Cancer Awareness

Dr. Jesse Hightower, Jr., Ed.D brings fifteen years of post-secondary experience to the Team Echols’ Foundation. He currently serves as Supervisory Management and Program Analyst in Business Operations for the U.S. Department of Education. Prior to joining the U.S. Department of Education, Jesse served as an Executive Director of Student Affairs in the University System of Georgia where he provided oversight for the administration of multiple federally funded programs. He received his B.A. from Fisk University and his M.Ed., Ed.S., and his Ed.D. from Tennessee State University.

During his tenure in higher education, he has held many positions to include default management coordinator, manager of student accounts, management consultant and senior grants analyst. In addition to his work, Jesse enjoys spending time with his family and friends and volunteering within his community. “Serving and giving back to the community is important to me, so I’m excited about the opportunity to educate others about colon cancer prevention”.

Sarah Hightower, LAPC is a mental health counselor with an M.A. in Community Counseling from Clark Atlanta University. She received her B.A. from Fisk University. Sarah completed her counseling training within a ride range of settings, including an emergency shelter for abandoned, neglected, and abused children, a college campus counseling center, private practice mental health with children and families, and community-based mental health. Sarah currently works at A.T.L. Psychotherapy and Consulting Services. She specializes in working with women’s wellness issues with a focus on pregnant and postpartum mood disorders. She also serves as a volunteer with Postpartum Support International (PSI) providing support, information, and resources to women and their families across the state of Georgia struggling with postpartum mood disorders.

Prior to beginning her career as a counselor, Sarah worked for six years at Georgia Public Broadcasting in events management, government relations, and as an executive assistant. She is married to Jesse Hightower, and they have two daughters. When she’s not working or spending time with her family, Sarah enjoys running, reading, creating art, and yoga.

Jante T. Glenn brings to the Echols Foundation 20 years of professional experience and 10 years of Engineering experience combined with 10 years of Entrepreneurial experience in the restaurant industry. Jante’ is currently a Senior Manager at the Target Corporation managing a 24 million dollar retail sales business.

Prior to the Target Corporation, Jante’ was Founder and CEO of Wing City 2 City, a Wing restaurant located in Gainesville, Ga. Jante’ successfully operated the restaurant for 5 years before selling it for a profit and moving to Atlanta, Georgia where he currently resides.

Jante’ is a 1998 graduated from Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He is married to Kimberly Glenn and they have a 5-year-old son, Cameron Alexander Glenn.

Kimberly Glenn brings to the Echols Foundation over 16 years of professional experience. Kimberly started her career as an Electrical Engineer at Procter & Gamble, Inc. where she served for almost 13 years in a myriad of Engineering and Sales roles. She is currently a Talent Acquisition Manager at Chick-fil-A, Inc. where she gets to combine her love for serving and developing others.

Kimberly is a 1998 graduated from Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and received her MBA from St. Louis University in 2003. She is married to her college sweetheart Jante’ Glenn and they have a 5-year-old son, Cameron 

Alexander Glenn. She enjoys scrap-booking and traveling.

Tonya Raines is a Human Resources professional with over 16 years of experience working in leadership development, employee relations, HRIS, diversity and consulting. Tonya currently leads projects in the Talent Management Department of Chick-fil-A. She previously developed the first diversity initiative at Air Tran Airways, which included several service projects in partnership with the local community. She developed her consultant skills during her tenure as a management consultant with Pricewaterhouse Coopers. Tonya holds a bachelors degree in Finance from Georgia Southern University and a Masters of Business Administration from Mercer University.

Tonya is the wife of Curtis T. Raines II and they are the proud parents of eleven-year-old Kendall Payton Raines and eight year old Curtis Tyler Raines III. She has previously served on the Board of Directors for Atlanta Diversity Management Advocacy Group (ADMAG) and currently serves as the chair of service for the Stone Mountain Chapter of Jack & Jill Incorporated.

Her passion for finding a cure for colon cancer and the work of Team Echols Foundation is deeply rooted in memory of her maternal grandfather who was a colon cancer patient. The dedicated need for knowledge around the topic is very personal for her.

Curtis T. Raines brings to the Echols Foundation more that 16 years of sales, and marketing leadership. Raines is the Vice President of Sales at Pindrop Security a leading software company that provides solutions to protect enterprise financial call centers, and phone users. Prior to joining Pindrop, he served as Director of Sales for NexTraq, a GPS software company that managed commercial and government customers in both US and international markets. Raines has successfully launched sales organizations from start up and re-structured existing sales forces yielding higher productivity, efficiency and results. For the first 10 years of his career Raines held a variety of leadership positions at Verizon, including the MCI Worldcom division and Premiere Global Services.

Curtis is married to Tonya Whitehead Raines and they have two children, Kendall age 11 and Tyler age 8.

Keisha Echols is a Human Resources professional with over nineteen years of experience in the field. Her HR career began with Sara Lee Corporation in 1996, and after relocating to Atlanta in 1999 from Chicago, Keisha joined The Coca-Cola Company in Staffing and has worked for other great companies such as The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, West Paces Hotel Group, and Talent Plus, Inc. as Human Resources Director and in Consultant roles. She is currently a Franchisee Selection Screener at Chick-fil-A, Inc.

Keisha is a 2001 graduate of National-Louis University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Behavioral Science and a 2015 graduate of Brenau University with a Master's in Business Administration and obtained her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification in 2006. Keisha is excited about bringing her love for helping others and entrepreneurial spirit to the Team Echols Foundation. In addition to her corporate experience, she has also owned and managed a children’s consignment shop, an errand & concierge service, and real estate investment properties.

Keisha is married to Roderick Echols, a Stage III colorectal cancer survivor, and together they have a 7-year son, Preston Echols, and a 4-year old daughter, Pria Echols. “Team Echols” enjoys entertaining friends & family, taking trips together, and Friday Movie & Pizza Nights. When Keisha is not spending time with her family she enjoys steppin' and spending time with her close circle of sisters, cousins and friends.
